Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu will clock six months in office on August 25. While six months is not enough to measure full performance, it is long enough to reveal direction. Disu appeared to understand he had been handed an opportunity, stating in his maiden speech that the confidence reposed in him was one he would 'neither squander nor take lightly.' His handling of the State Police question and other issues will be assessed.
