The National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN), Abuja Division, has granted accelerated hearing to a suit filed by concerned members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN). The suit challenges aspects of the union's leadership succession process, constitutional amendments, and the planned national delegates' conference and election. The court declined to stop the election scheduled for this weekend but ordered respondents to file responses within seven days.
