The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) reported that troops rescued at least 59 kidnapped victims and neutralised 11 terrorists during operations across Nigeria from August 14 to August 20. Major General Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, stated that Operation HADIN KAI rescued eight victims in the North East, including three from Gwamnare Forest in Bauchi and a 63-year-old Cameroonian national. Additionally, troops neutralised three terrorists and recovered weapons, while 47 family members of terrorists and six fighters surrendered in Borno. In the North-West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA rescued 28 abducted persons across Zamfara, Katsina, and Sokoto states.
