Ogoni youths demand 500 NNPC jobs as oil exploration resumption sparks divisions

Youths from the Ogoni ethnic nationality in Rivers State have demanded 500 job slots from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited as part of the planned resumption of oil exploration in the area. This demand exceeds the 40 slots already released by the company. The Ogoni Youth Federation (OYF) has also moved to convene a national congress to address issues arising from the oil exploration, which has sparked divisions in the area. The President-General of OYF, Engr. Legborsi Yamaabana, spoke during the inauguration of the Planning Committee for the Congress in Port Harcourt.
