The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, has confirmed the deaths of two of its officers in an ambush by suspected criminals in Akure North Local Government Area. The attack occurred on August 11, 2026, near the Ago-Oyinbo farming area, as the officers were returning to their base. The corps' Public Relations Officer, S.A. Jimoh Adeniken, stated that the assailants engaged the officers in a gun battle, resulting in two deaths and several injuries. Reinforcements have been deployed to track down the perpetrators, and patrols have been intensified.
