The National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office, a fake agency uncovered by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), had mirrored the federal character principle in its appointments. The agency deployed coordinators from Nigeria's major ethnic and regional groups across virtually every state. The ICPC chairman disclosed this during a briefing in Abuja, as part of an ongoing investigation into fictitious agencies and procedural weaknesses in the public service.
