Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi scored the opening goal as newly promoted Hull City secured a historic 2-0 victory over Manchester United at the MKM Stadium. Nobel Mendy added the second goal, with both goals coming from set-piece opportunities. The win marked Hull City's first-ever Premier League victory over Manchester United, with Ajayi also marshalling a resolute defensive performance.
