Amnesty International has called on Nigerian authorities to account for hundreds of unidentified bodies reportedly being moved from mortuaries in Imo State to unknown destinations. The organization expressed deep concern over reports of bodies being removed from facilities such as Ngor Okpala General Hospital and Mbieri General Hospital. Amnesty stated that authorities must urgently clarify the circumstances surrounding the bodies, their identities, and the reasons for their movement. Videos obtained by the organization reportedly show the movement of bodies at night, many appearing to be at the skeletal stage.
