Jose Mourinho's second spell as Real Madrid manager began with a last-gasp 2-1 victory at Espanyol in La Liga. Jude Bellingham opened the scoring, and substitute Carlos Espi scored the winner in the 90th minute after Alex Calatrava had leveled for Espanyol. Mourinho, who returned to the club 13 years after leaving, fielded a star-studded lineup including Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and new signings Bernardo Silva, Denzel Dumfries, and Ibrahima Konate. The win marks the start of Mourinho's efforts to end Barcelona's domestic dominance.
