The Coalition of Whistleblowers and Press Freedom Protectors (CWPPF) has demanded an independent investigation into an alleged police assault on a journalist in Abuja. The coalition called for the investigation to be conducted under an independent mechanism outside the direct command structure implicated in the allegation. The demand follows reports of the assault and concerns over press freedom.
