Six armed suspects killed, security operative dies in Anambra

A joint security operation in Amiyi, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Saturday, resulted in the deaths of six suspected armed group members. The operation involved personnel from the Nigeria Police Force Rapid Response Squad, Department of State Services, 302 Artillery Regiment Onitsha, Nigerian Navy, and Agunachamba operatives. According to a statement by the Anambra State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the security team acted on credible intelligence and trekked about four hours through difficult terrain to reach the camp. The suspects opened fire on sighting the personnel, leading to a prolonged gunfight in which six were neutralized and others fled with injuries.
