The Edo State Police Command rescued a 32-year-old kidnap victim, Oboharekpe Muhammed David, after a gun battle with his abductors in South-Ibie, Etsako West Local Government Area. The victim was abducted by four armed men on 20th August 2026, and a rescue team was deployed by the Commissioner of Police. The kidnappers fled when confronted by security operatives, leaving the victim behind. The command's spokesperson confirmed the rescue and stated that the victim is safe.
