Thousands of supporters gathered at the Oba Adetona Pavilion in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, to witness the defection of prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The event had a carnival atmosphere, with music by apala maestro Musiliu Haruna Ishola. Governor Dapo Abiodun welcomed the defectors, stating that the APC is now the preferred political platform in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 elections. The defectors cited the achievements of the Abiodun administration as their reason for joining the APC.
