Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticized President Bola Tinubu's celebration of subsidy removal, calling it one of the biggest economic frauds sold to Nigerians. Atiku argued that the administration cannot claim to have abolished subsidy while granting tax credits and concessions to petroleum industry operators. He said the government's propaganda collapses under the weight of its own policies, as it provides incentives to major petroleum players while subjecting households to market forces. Atiku's statement was issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu.
