Ex-banker seeks help to sustain kidney transplant

Mrs Kehinde Oluwatoyin Ugbede, a former banker and Economics graduate of the University of Abuja, underwent a kidney transplant at Zenith Medical and Kidney Centre, Abuja, in March 2026 after years of living with kidney failure and undergoing repeated dialysis. Four months after the surgery, she is struggling to raise about N1.9 million needed every three months to purchase immunosuppressant drugs essential for keeping her transplanted kidney functioning. Ugbede is appealing to kind-hearted Nigerians, Nigerians in the diaspora, corporate organisations, religious bodies, community groups, and other public-spirited individuals for financial support to sustain her treatment.
