A crisis has erupted in the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) over the alleged replacement of its House of Representatives candidate for Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 1 on the INEC portal. The party's electoral committee had declared Prince Abele Wobo the winner of the direct primary held on 29 May 2026, but the name of Hon. Manuchim Umezurike was uploaded instead. The Social Accountability Forum has condemned the move, insisting that Wobo lawfully emerged as the candidate.
