Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on Nigerians to demand accountability from the Tinubu-led government over its rising debt profile. In a statement, Atiku accused the administration of incompetence and financial impropriety, citing lack of transparency in loan agreements, particularly the $5 billion facility from First Abu Dhabi Bank. He warned that unchecked borrowing risks trapping future generations in unsustainable debt, noting that the administration has added N72 trillion in fresh debt since May 2023.
