The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has reported that cumulative Retirement Savings Account (RSA) registrations under the Contributory Pension Scheme rose to 11,183,475 in the first quarter of 2026, up from 11,040,227 in Q4 2025. This represents an increase of 143,248 new accounts during the quarter, a stronger pace than the 114,864 opened in the previous quarter. Active membership now corresponds to approximately 12.1% of Nigeria's estimated 92 million-strong labour force. PenCom attributed the growth to improved digital onboarding and sustained public sensitisation.
