Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have intercepted three disassembled canoes reportedly procured by a suspected terrorist kingpin, Shehu Bagewaye, to facilitate movement of his fighters across riverine areas in Zamfara State. The operation, carried out on August 23, 2026, followed credible intelligence that the canoes were transported from Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State. Media Information Officer Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja disclosed that the canoes were intended to help terrorists overcome river obstacles and enhance their mobility for criminal activities. The troops conducted a covert operation along identified areas to disrupt the logistics.
