Nigeria-UAE trade surges 66.7% to $5bn in 1 year

Bilateral trade between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) surged by 66.7% to about $5 billion in 2025 from $3 billion in 2024. The increase was disclosed during a courtesy visit by UAE Ambassador Salem Saeed Alshamsi to Nigeria's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye. The UAE has ratified a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), and Nigeria is expected to complete its domestic ratification process to further unlock investment opportunities in sectors like manufacturing, services, energy, and finance.
