A struggling Brooklyn bakery was months from closing when a Meta engineer, Shuayb Qureshi, made it go viral through his Instagram videos. Qureshi started posting videos to rebuild his social life, and his content, which featured the bakery, attracted millions of views and helped draw customers. The engineer says that helping businesses was a byproduct of his goal to connect with people in New York.
