The United States has awarded a $125,000 grant through the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) to the Center for Memories in Enugu. The grant will support the digital documentation and physical preservation of the historic Lejja Iron-Smelting Site in Enugu State, which dates back 4,000 years. This initiative aims to safeguard Nigeria's cultural heritage and strengthen U.S.-Nigeria relations.
