2027: Obi disagrees with Atiku on subsidy, faults mismanagement of proceeds

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Party, has expressed disagreement with Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, over the latter's proposal to reintroduce fuel subsidy if elected in 2027. Speaking at the Nigerian Bar Association conference in Port Harcourt, Obi argued that subsidy removal is necessary but criticized the federal government for mismanaging the savings from the removal. He emphasized that the issue lies in the failure to properly manage and invest the resources saved from the policy.
