An independent arbitrator has ruled that The Washington Post wrongly fired columnist Karen Attiah, who was dismissed after making social media posts following the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The arbitrator stated that the firing was 'absolutely disproportional' punishment. Attiah, who is part of the newsroom's union, will be rehired. The Post had argued it had cause under its collective bargaining agreement.
