Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has condemned the reported massacre and mass abduction in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, describing it as another bloody indictment of Nigeria's failing security architecture. In a statement, Atiku said reports that more than 40 Nigerians were slaughtered and scores abducted represent a familiar tragedy where terrorists attack, kill, and disappear before security forces arrive. He called the incident a national disgrace and noted that it has been over 100 days since schoolchildren and 38 other civilians were kidnapped.
