Police have confirmed that two people were killed and three policemen injured in a heavy attack in Ikire. The assailants forcefully took a police patrol vehicle attached to Ikire Division, which was later abandoned and recovered with multiple bullet holes and a destroyed windscreen. Nine expended ammunition shells were recovered at the scene and have been secured for forensic analysis.
