The Federal Government, through the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), has awarded a contract for the reconstruction and dredging of the Escravos Channel at Warri Port in Delta State. This project is part of the Eastern Ports rehabilitation efforts, which include six distinct projects under the modernization programme. The contract was awarded to China Harbour Engineering, and the work aims to address the shallow channel that has deterred vessels from calling at Warri ports.
