The Abia State Government has commenced payment of outstanding gratuities to verified retirees, with total liabilities estimated at N61.8 billion. The payment follows a committee's validation of outstanding liabilities and a sustainable payment plan. The government aims to clear all arrears by 2031, according to Commissioner for Information Prince Okey Kanu.
