Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has ruled out the establishment of ranches on any part of the state's land without the consent of his administration and the people. His statement came in response to the Federal Government's pilot ranching policy, which included Benue in its first phase. Speaking at a town hall meeting with stakeholders from the Sankera bloc, Alia emphasized that no land would be ceded to pastoralists for ranching or any other purpose without the people's approval.
