Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State, has suspended Professor Ifeanyi Odinye of the Department of Chinese Studies for three months over alleged sexual molestation of a student. The suspension, approved by Vice Chancellor Prof. Ugochukwu Anyaehie, includes half salary and follows a preliminary report from a six-man investigative panel. The student involved, Chikamso Favour Okechukwu, has been referred to the examination misconduct committee. Odinye was physically assaulted and stripped by angry students on 15 August.
