Japan's Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Onishi Yohei, attended a departure ceremony on August 25 for two members of Japan's international peace cooperation contingent. The officers, Major Sato Noriko and Major Ushio Shota, will be dispatched as the 18th headquarters staff to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). Vice-Minister Onishi expressed expectations for their contribution to nation-building in South Sudan and peace in East Africa.
