The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdurosheed Akanbi, has called on President Bola Tinubu to grant presidential amnesty to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to deepen national cohesion. In a statement released on Tuesday, the monarch compared Kanu's situation to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) resulting from the losses suffered by the Igbo nation during the civil war. He commended Tinubu for running an inclusive administration but urged him to take further steps to heal the post-war frustrations of the Igbos.
