In Chikwawa, Malawi, health workers faced a challenge during a polio vaccination campaign when many children were attending traditional initiation camps known as ku Simba. Initiation leader Yohane Botha from Ntsapa welcomed vaccination teams into the camps, ensuring children received the polio vaccine. Botha emphasized that children should not be left behind due to tradition. This partnership between health workers and cultural leaders helped overcome barriers to essential health services.
