US Immigration and Customs Enforcement made 49,571 arrests in July, the highest monthly total since President Donald Trump returned to office. This represents a 15 per cent increase from June's 43,021 arrests and a 70 per cent rise from February's 29,241 arrests. The figures were provided by ICE to the University of California, Berkeley's Deportation Data Project and analysed by The Associated Press. The increase comes despite a shift away from highly publicised operations in major cities.
