President Bola Tinubu has ordered the Federal Ministry of Works to urgently intervene in the worsening condition of the Benin-Agbor-Asaba road, where motorists and commuters have been trapped in gridlock for days. The directive came amid growing public concern over the deteriorating highway, which has disrupted interstate movement, delayed the transportation of goods, and forced some travellers to abandon their vehicles. The Minister of Works, David Umahi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday by his media aide, Francis Nwaze. Umahi said Tinubu directed the ministry to take immediate action to restore movement along the affected corridor and address the hardship being experienced by road users.
