EU, UNIDO Train Stakeholders on Small Hydropower Initiative to Enhance Agriculture

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), with funding from the European Union, held a capacity building workshop in Gombe to train stakeholders on using small hydropower for agriculture. The workshop focused on the Balanga Dam Small Hydropower Project as a case study. UNIDO's Representative, Ambassador Philbert Johnson, highlighted Nigeria's renewable energy potential and the importance of small hydropower for rural development. The initiative aims to bring clean power to rural farms and grow the local food industry.
