Eid Mewlid Al-Nebi, marking the 1448 Hijri year, was celebrated colorfully across Eritrea on 25 August. The ceremony at Al-Khulafa Al-Rashidin Mosque was attended by ministers, senior government and PFDJ officials, members of the diplomatic community, and leaders of various churches. Haj Mohammed-Seid Bashir, Chairman of the Islamic Awkaf of Asmara, gave a briefing on the holiday's historical significance. Sheik Salem Ibrahim Almuktar, Mufti of Eritrea, congratulated the Eritrean people and emphasized the importance of adhering to the nation's foundational ethical principles.
