Nigerian lawyers have expressed support for the voluntary tax compliance initiative led by the Office of the Tax Ombud, emphasizing taxation as a key revenue source for infrastructure and social services. The discussion took place during a panel titled 'Pay Now, Prosper Later' at the 66th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association in Port Harcourt. Tax Ombud Dr. John Nwabueze and legal expert Ahmed Raji, SAN, highlighted the need to build taxpayer trust to boost compliance and revenue. Nwabueze reassured attendees of the Office's commitment to providing an independent platform for taxpayers.
