Nigeria's crude oil production has risen above the OPEC quota of 1.5 million barrels per day for the first time in years, according to analysts. The increase is attributed to the efforts of Tantita Security Services, a private security firm led by former militant leader Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo. Previously, production had fallen below one million barrels per day due to pipeline vandalism, oil theft, and insecurity. Improved surveillance and security measures by Tantita are credited with boosting output.
