Trading activity at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market rose sharply, with total turnover increasing by $3.1 billion to $5.28 billion in the five working days ending August 21, 2026. This represents a 142.3 percent increase from the previous five-day period. Interbank transactions rose by 179 percent to $1.70 billion, with average daily turnover reaching $340.9 million. The data indicates heightened activity in the foreign exchange market.
