Deloitte has agreed to pay $21.5 million to settle an investigation by the Department of Justice regarding its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices. The DOJ accused the firm of discriminating on the basis of race and sex in its hiring and promotion practices, which violated rules for federal contractors. Deloitte did not admit liability but stated it was pleased to resolve the matter to avoid litigation costs. This settlement is part of a broader crackdown on DEI initiatives by the Trump administration.
