Muslim faithful march to Area 1 for Maulud celebration

Hundreds of Muslim faithful participated in a colorful procession through parts of Abuja on Monday, heading to Area 1 for a gathering to mark this year's Maulud celebration. Participants, including men, women, and children dressed in white robes, hijabs, and traditional attire, were accompanied by vehicles, tricycles, and motorcycles. Some carried banners and portraits, adding to the religious atmosphere. Maulud, also known as Mawlid, commemorates the birth and life of Prophet Muhammad and is observed with prayers, teachings, and reflections on Islamic values. Participants like Haruna Salilu said the celebration promoted peace, love, and unity among Nigerians.
