Subsidy Removal: Atiku disowns aide, says ‘my position has not changed’

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has disowned comments made by his media aide, Paul Ibe, regarding fuel subsidy, reaffirming his stance to restore subsidy if elected in 2027. Atiku stated that Nigeria is wealthy enough to provide relief for its citizens and that Ibe was not speaking on his authority. He made these remarks while receiving the Osun State leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja.
