UN Women and the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) have inaugurated the Steering Committee and Technical Working Group on Gender-Responsive Planning and Budgeting (GRPB) and the INSPIRE Programme to advance gender equality in Nigeria's Federal Civil Service. The inauguration marks a milestone in implementing a Memorandum of Understanding between the two bodies to strengthen women's leadership and integrate gender-responsive approaches into planning, budgeting, and policy implementation. The new structures will provide strategic and technical oversight across government ministries, departments, and agencies. The UN Women Representative to Nigeria and ECOWAS spoke at the inauguration on August 25, 2026.
