Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has said he refused to attend the recent signing of the National Peace Accord because the event has always been one-sided. He made this statement during a visit from the 'Council of the Wise' of the Savannah Centre for Democracy, Diplomacy and Development, led by former Chief Justice Olukayode Ariwoola. The group urged Atiku to promote peaceful and issue-based campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections. Atiku referred to the accord signed on August 18 by presidential candidates and political parties.
