A local government chairman in Niger State has reported that many bodies have been recovered following attacks on mosques in the area. According to Abdullahi, over 60 people were kidnapped and close to 30 were killed in the incident. The military has restored calm, but some residents have fled to safer areas. President Bola Tinubu has ordered a rescue operation in response to the attacks.
