Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, the Presidential Candidate of the Accord Party, has stated that petrol can be sold at a sustainable price of ₦605 per litre under his administration. He argued that the price could potentially fall to between ₦200 and ₦300 if production costs and the exchange rate are stabilized. Hashim, who opposes the removal of petrol subsidy, insisted that this price would not constitute an artificial subsidy and would not reduce government revenue.
