Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has called on the Federal Government to fully implement the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Act, 2022, to ensure health insurance coverage for all Nigerians. Speaking at the launch of a N1 billion insurance trust fund for entertainers in Lagos, Falana emphasized that the law, which mandates health insurance, should be enforced to protect vulnerable groups, including workers in the entertainment industry, from healthcare costs. The initiative, launched by Groove Tyme Entertainment in collaboration with Meristem, Leadway Assurance, and other stakeholders, aims to provide insurance protection for artists and other vulnerable groups in the sector.
