Senator Osita Izunaso has urged Nigerians to view the tax reforms of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration as a tool for national development rather than a punitive measure. Speaking at the Nigerian Bar Association conference in Port Harcourt, he stressed that increased taxation must be matched by improved public services, transparency, and accountability. Izunaso said the success of the reforms would depend less on the passage of legislation than on the effectiveness of their implementation. He added that the reforms should be seen as an effort to establish a tax system that is simpler and fairer.
