The Federal Government has inaugurated the Presidential Committee on the National Threat Assessment and Five-Year Strategic Defence Operations Plan. Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, charged the committee to develop a clear framework for identifying security threats, setting objectives, and achieving measurable outcomes. The inauguration is part of the administration's efforts to strengthen Nigeria's capacity to understand, anticipate, and respond to an increasingly complex security environment. Akume urged members to approach the assignment with professionalism, objectivity, urgency, and patriotism.
